For its 7th release, IO SOUND presents nine reworks of Pinkcourtesyphone, the industrialist / ambient face of microsound composer and LINE label director Richard Chartier. On Line 1, twelve acclaimed sound artists from across the planet attend to the lost transmissions of Pinkcourtesyphone, creating a haunting work of interstellar ambiance, spaced-out deep techno, and industrialist IDM. Expect fully immersive audio from our earthly cousins on Raster-Noton, 12k, Dragon’s Eye, and Sandwell District.
On Line 2, Pinkcourtesyphone joins forces with Kid Congo Powers of The Cramps, The Gun Club, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Kid speaks with just a hint of malice in his voice, torturing the strange disco of diva Amanda Lear: “I am a photograph... I am in colour and softly lit, overexposed and well blown-up”.
IO SOUND transmits to you a new echo from outer space: an industrialist retouch of haunted techno, industrialist IDM, outerspace ambiance and darkwave house.
